Exactly what We needed
I work in an electronics lab and we needed a good microscope for a reasonable price. This is exactly it! For the price I couldn't believe the quality of this thing.
When soldering fine pitch components you need high quality magnification with plenty of room between the lens and the work space. The focus gives a very crisp image and you have the ability to adjust both eyes independently for excellent depth perception. Yes using a binocular microscope you get depth perception. With the 0.5X lens you get about 4-5 inches between the bottom of the lens and your work space. This is more then enough for a soldering iron, tweezers and your hands.
The stand is also fantastic, after you learn to use it. This is the only real complaint, there are absolutely no instructions on setup or operation so setting up and using the stand is a little difficult.

Excellent chunk of optics for the price
So far, with the exception to their digital cameras, everything that we have purchased from Amscope has been top notch. We have multiple microscopes, LED light arrays, objectives and eye-pieces. Not a single one of them has been less than very good.
The only problem with an otherwise great camera is the weak software and slow frame rate.
