The MicroSync II VM2TR Wireless Transmitter/Receiver Kit is a super lightweight system with a tiny form factor which can easily be your solution to a tangle of PC cords in the studio or on location. The kit includes both a transmitter and receiver capable of firing your strobe from distance of 200'. Just slip the tiny transmitter on your camera and plug the receiver into your flash with one of the 4 provided plug adapters. Select a channel (there are 16) and you're ready to shoot. Forget about on/off switches; there aren't any.
This smart system goes on instantly the second you hit the shutter release and automatically shuts down when not in use, dramatically extending battery life. The system, which operates on 433MHz, has a maximum focal plane flash sync of 1/200 sec (depending on the camera in use) and a maximum leaf shutter sync speed of 1/350 sec. Besides flash, the MicroSync II can also fire most DSLR cameras which have an electronic shutter release input. Just add the optional, dedicated camera cord. It's great for wildlife or surveillance.

Almost right.
I have been using my VM2TR kit for about 6 mos. The kit works fine without any problems. My issue is the construction of the items. The small receiver jack plug has alot of play in it once it connected to the light source. I have to use tape to feel secure when I am on location. The transmitter screws that hold the metal plate, "that connects to the hot shoe" came off in my pocket. The battery indicator always show half full. I wish it would show you the actually life of the battery. Also, the battery life on the transmitter is a third of that of the receiver. In other words, you will have to change the batteries three time on the transmitter before you change them on the receiver. However, it works flawless when they are in operation.
Just a little more and it's perfect.
I wish that it worked better thru cardboard or fomecore. I often can't get a reading on my light meter until I break down some of the fomecore blocking the signal.
The improvements they made since the first version were well done.
