Great All-Around Projector
Pros - Natural life like image that doesn't appear over-processed, great colors and skin tones, sharp picture. Unbelievable 3D. Plenty bright.
Cons - Useless Auto Iris. 3D glasses are expensive and separately sold.
I've had this projector for about a month now and have been watching more TV than ever. This is my first projector and I spent some time shopping around and viewing different projectors. I had shopped in local stores and saw several on display, usually Sony or JVC. They both looked okay but I didn't like the motion blur or 3D picture on those projectors. The Sony had a setting that tried to smooth the picture but it made it look totally fake. This projector is a DLP, and apparently some people see a rainbow effect, but I never have and no one else in my household does either. Kind of like seeing unicorns maybe!
Our regular TV watching and sports watching are great. But Blu-Rays take it to another level. The clarity and image quality...
Awesome Awesome Projector
Did my research on what projector would fit my budget of 2000.00. Came across two projectors, one being the Epson V11H502020 PowerLite 3D projector and the Mitsubishi HC7800D. Thanks to several websites for doing shootouts between these two projectors. Though the Epson had some really nice features I was turned off by many complaimnts of iris noise and the just the over all loudness of the projector. Plus, I had read the trade-offs between DLP versus LCD. The HC7800D being a DLP projector would produce richer colors and produce an overall sharper image.
That swayed my decesion and I ordered the Mits.
Have it coupled to our Home Cinema as a secondary HD display behind a 55" LG LCD flat panel. We installed a Elite Screens 100" motorized acoustically transparent screen to come down over the LG so we would be able to enjoy 3D cinema in the same home theatre room.

Please don't buy it, it is so awesome that I want to be among those few special people who have it #greedyme.
I am currently projecting it on wall( I have bought a 120" screen but its still unpacked, because the picture quality is so clear even on the wall).
Bought it from "Sunset Electronics" because they were promising 4 3d glasses.
Ended up getting 2 glasses(Mitsubishi EY-3DGS-78U 3D Glasses for HC7800D 3D Projector) from them.
The 3d experience is just WOW !
Watched Avatar-3D and got to watch the 3d channel on direct TV (107 and 106 ESPN 3d).
