Good but two issues.
The scope works great, lighting is good, lenses are pristine, no dust on the inside of the pieces, and the binocular eye pieces are very easy to adjust to a comfortable fit. The few problems: Barska is of little to no help if you contact them be happy if you get a reply and it does not come with a pointer.
Likely the best in the mid-low price range
I was surprised to find that the Barska microscope is much like the Leica scopes I use in university. I ended up paying less than $160 for my scope, new, because the cedar oil, dust cover, lens paper and all papers except manual were missing. I am so glad I took my time shopping around for this one because there are quite some companies that make lower-end microscopes that are loaded with "features" but in the end they try to incorporate so much that the overall quality is low (yes... past experience). The microscopes from these companies (Amscope and all the others with too-good-to-be-true scopes)are in general of ok quality and you get what you pay for--even though a scope may have 2000X capability, it might only produce clear images under 10X - 1000X maximum.
The Barska binocular compound microscope doesn't promise anything it can't do. From the optical diopter to the light source, everything works great. It is sturdy and good looking too! I have had it for a month or so now...
Ojective lens
The microscope is Ok, but the 100x the book said to remove the mark sleeve turn the ring to its parfocal distance. What ever that meant, so when I removed the front sleeve and the mark sleeve the head of a screw fell out on the table and I saw that the screw broke off from the tube that holds the lens. I sent you a note telling what happen and all I could find out that I should go to Barska and tell them. At first they didn't know what I was talking about, but the did send me a screw and it was to small, but it fit in the hole, however it will not secure the lens tube in place. I told Barska that with no replay. As long as the mark sleeve is on the screw will not come so the 100X will work that way.
