Great Price for a Zoom Stereo Microscope
I've been using this microscope for about a year, and I am very pleased. It performs like other zoom microscopes that are triple the price--from its construction to its optics. I use the trinocular head with a Microscope Adapter (23.2mm) attachment for my Canon XSI, in combination with Canon's software and I have gotten some really nice images. My whole rig (including microscope and the camera) is thousands of dollars cheaper than photomicrography setups that have a lower resolution that my Camera's 12.2 MP.
The only problem is that I cannot find eyepieces that have a higher power than 10X that are compatible with this scope. I've bought two different eyepieces (both 15X Wild Field) and they gave me a double image. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. If someone knows, please respond to this review.
Overall, you'll be very satisfied with this zoom microscope.
Excellent Hobbyist Scope
This scope pushes the line between hobbyist and near-professional. Standard sized tubes mean that professional eyepieces from more expensive microscopes fit it, and the third tube can be used with professional digital microscope cameras.
Review
I am happy with the fit, finish and overall quality of this microscope. In truth its price is really good compared with other brands, and it performs very good, especially its illumination is just fantastic. My only, and only complaint is the vertical viewing tube. I thought I could take photographs through it, but this tube seems useless. No matter how many times I tried to adjust it, it just gives you a field view so small that is useless for photo taking of mechanical pieces (I use it for watchmaking). My advice is save some money and buy the exact same model but without the 3rd tube (buy stereo binocular). Other than that this microscope is really a great value for your Dollar.
