Very Impressed By the performance of this camera
I have to say that I was happy to be one of the first people to buy this camera. I actually received it before it was being officially marketed at BestBuy stores. I saw a lady online post that the camera was in storage at many of the stores but that you could request for them to retrieve a box from storage, and they couldn't refuse you to buy one for a sale. I didn't believe this tactic, but I went to a BestBuy, and tried it. The guy told me that they had it in the back, and came back with three boxes. I was so surprised, and he then asked me, "Which color would you like." Apparently, it wasn't being officially marketed, but you could still unofficially request one, and be allowed to purchase it. I felt lucky. I used it on my birthday (Sep 30). I freelance with photography as a serious side hobby, and I own a Canon 60D. I have been waiting impatiently for this Elph 310 HS to come out, due to it's new HS system, larger and 450,000 dot per square inch Hi Def (improved) 3"...

Great Quality.. After a Few Tweeks
I purchased this camera as a replacement to my Canon SD870IS which I was very happy with. The features that really caught my eye in the 310 HS were the 1080p video, 12MP images (I print LARGE poster size images at time), the large LCD screen and the new flash technology. I didn't want a touch screen as my interface so I went with the 310 instead of the 510.

So far I've taken about 500 pictures and 20 videos (some 1080p others 720p) with the camera both inside and outside. Overall I'm impressed with the quality of the pictures and VERY impressed with the video quality.

When you set the camera to Auto is does a decent job at detecting the environment. It adjusts the focus/lighting accordingly and takes a decent pictures. However, there are times where I have been taking a wide angle scenic view and it decides to focus on the nearby post and adjust to macro. When it does that, the picture comes out a little grainy and some areas are out of...

Amazing camera, way better than the 300 HS!
This camera is FANTASTIC. After losing my Canon SD 630 (which I've had since 2006), I was nervous I wouldn't find a camera that I would love again. I had originally ordered the 300 HS, and had it for about two weeks and then I found out that the 310 HS was coming out so I decided to return the 300 HS. I also wasn't really impressed with the 300 HS to begin with. There are tons of great reviews about it out there but I really was not satisfied (shutter lag was horrible -- even though I had an 8 GB memory card, pics came out blurry a lot, the exterior felt and looked cheap, and the quality of the pics were not that great considering that it was rated so highly). This is ridiculous considering that this camera was made 5 years after my old one, and I still thought my SD 630 was better quality! I took my chances on the 310 HS after reading all the specs and improvements and I am beyond glad that I made the switch to the 310 HS.

Excellent palm-sized video camera
This camcorder does everything it should. For a palm-sized camera, 60x optical zoom is impressive. It comes with 4 GB of internal memory, and it takes Memory Sticks and SD Cards up to 32 GB. This makes its memory sources more versatile than any other palm-sized cam that I've seen.

This year's model, the DCR-SX44, comes with an LED Light on the front of the camera for added lighting in low-light situations. One of the biggest complains about last year's model, the DCR-SX40, was that it had nothing to assist with low lighting. Clearly, Sony addressed the customers' concerns, and I like that.

Other nice features: a switch-on lens cover (button on the side), zoom-in microphone (audio zooms with video), and nice color selection (red, blue, and silver).

It comes with everything you need in the box: battery, power cable, A/V cable, USB cable, and some optional software (which I have not touched).

Great overall package killed by poor video quality
Our 1995 Sony camcorder finally bit the dust so it was time for a new one. We only use the camcorder for personal use so we were looking for another basic, easy-to-use camcorder in the $250 range. After spending some time researching camcorders the Sony DCR-SX44 camcorder seemed like a perfect fit.

The menu and controls are pretty intuitive so you will be shooting video in no time. This unit is so small that it's almost too small for large hands to comfortably operate. Fortunately the somewhat small grip is offset by the light weight, which makes extended filming less shaky and fatigue free. I like the onboard memory as well as the option to use SD/SDHC cards. Tiny and capable
I have owned this camera for but a few days, certainly haven't become familiar with EVERY feature. I still own a Sony DCR-TRV840 (a digital 8mm tape based camera) and this DCR-SX44 will eventually replace the TRV840.

As a technical consumer, I always review any default settings for devices I purchase; I immediately set the recording mode to highest quality.

Great Beginner Telescope
Great telescope for beginner. Instructions were not very clear. Did not explain how to exactly do all the controls. It takes some time to figure out the controls. Red dot did not work at first, but finally figured it out. Make sure you push down the metal piece on the battery. Starry Night or other star software is recommended. The guide for starry night explains all you need to know for beginners. Definitely recommended for beginners.

Great Bag
Lowepro seems to be getting better, as this is the best i have seen so far.
The colour Gray/polar blue is a nice combo.
If you like the quick access of the slingshot, this has it.
If you like the comfort of a backpack, this has it.
If you like Domke for its mild padding, this has it. although the lower compartment is heavily padded. Top section has no padding,which is what i like about it. It does not have that boxy look.
It looks like a normal everyday backpack, but is very versatile

One strange thing though, Lowepro claims it is not for a DSLR with grip, but yet my D90 with grip and 17-55/2.8 lens fits comfortably.

Did a TON of research on backpacks before taking my Canon 40D on a trip to Europe last summer. this backpack is astounding in what it can carry and how easy it is to use. It's the only backpack with hip straps I found that also allows you to get the camera out without removing the entire backpack from your shoulders. Super helpful. Holds a ton of stuff. Doesn't look like a camera bag.

Excellent, High Quality Camera for the Price with One Exception
Just got this brand new camera. I replaced our Casio, which was one of the most impressive digital cameras I have ever owned (had it for only 14 months). The reason for the replacement, my family loses cameras... a lot.. and this one went bye bye somewhere. The Casio had great features, a nice touch screen, a great zoom, good shutter speed for sporting events, and time between photos was great for the photo quality. It had one flaw, its inability to take night photos and the movies even in natural light were only okay. There were a ton of options, which for a standard user could be overwhelming.

Now to the PowerShot. This camera, sometimes will look grainy on the viewfinder until the actual photo itself is taken, but when the photo is taken... perfection. No matter the differences in light and shadows in a picture, the PowerShot somehow nicely accommodates for this. While the standard zoom is 4X, it can go to 10x, and with the shutter and flash, it still takes much...

Good Party Camera, Full HD video
I've got my Sony DSC-TX7 from Amazon just a few days ago. First impression - it's very small and thin. Feels very solid and a dark blue color looks pretty good. A wrist strap has been already attached at the factory; otherwise it can easily slip out of your hands. It is pretty good for a party - you can put it into your pocket and do whatever you want, even dance, and this camera will not bother you with its presence.

PROS:

- Very attractive stylish and solid design, especially in dark-blue color
- Ultra-slim body fits any small pocket
- Dust-free optics since the lens is not retractable
- Big high-resolution 920K colorful display looks like a small TV
- Pretty short startup time, no shutter lag, up to 10 frames per sec in burst mode

Best Compact Camera Made by Sony
Let me start this review with saying that I have owned quite a few digital cameras in the past. Sony (W50, W250), Canon (SD750, SD760IS) and Nikon (S5 or something) are amongst the brands I have tried. All of them were compact point-shoot cameras.

My ideal digital camera is one where the following conditions are met:
1. I don't have to think of the environment I am in (day or night)
2. It MUST be compact so I can carry it around easily, fit it in my pocket, etc.
3. It should just work without changing settings all the time.

This is exactly that!

Good Points:

-> Amazing Panaromic mode. It is sooo easy to use.
