Great flash for the non-professional
I bought a Nikon entry level DSLR for taking pictures of my newborn son. I got this about a month after he was born because the built in flash was so harsh, I avoided using it, but cranking up the ISO caused noisy shots. I love the shots I'm getting with this. I didn't want to shell out over twice the money for a Nikon speedlight, so I took a leap of faith and went with the Xit model here.
I'm not a photographer, but I like to take decent pictures and portraits. Excuse my lack of experience and misuse of terms.
It will act as a commander and can also be triggered wirelessly. It'll eat batteries even after you turn it off, but the case has a place to store them. Uses TTL evaluation so I don't have to think about settings on the flash. The manual is terribly written by someone who has likely never spoken english. I can compare it to a manual for some furniture I assembled: put the screw in hole and screw up screw. A diagram of the flash has items numbered...

I am totally impressed by this flash. It is comparable to good quality flashes in my opinion. I have a Nikon D7000 and it works great. Love the 360 degrees turn it offers...over all-good and it is even $60 cheaper in price than when I bought it...great price for the flash.
