Diving into Deep Space
The Telescopes I've purchased came with a stock eyepiece that left me wondering why I was not seeing the images other amateur astronomers with similar equipment seemed to see. I finally listened to the advice to upgrade my stock diagonal and move up to a 2" eyepiece. Not just any 2", but a wide field of view eyepiece.

I settled on the Celestron Ultima LX 22mm eyepiece after extensive research and friendly advice from several astronomy retailers. I am highly pleased with this choice. At a third of the cost of the high end 80 degree eyepieces, this provides a massive quantum leap in quality from stock eyepieces, and brings an entire new viewing experience to my C11.

The Celestron Ultima LX Series provide a 70 degree wide field of view. There is no comparison to the 40-50 degree view with the stock eyepiece. Consider it like breathing through a straw versus drinking from a firehose -- your first experience may be overload.

Great Eyepiece, Great Price, What R U waiting for?
1 word "Big" 2nd word, "HEAVY" Since all I ever had were 1.25's thats all I could say about the Ultima 22mm 2"... But after the initial Shock n Awe, I wondered why I waited so long "price" thats what is was, but not with this eyepiece, Its an incredible price for an experience that should be twice as much,,You will Love this Ultima..Looking at M57 "Ring nebula" is breat-taking, even in light polluted areas very crisp image, I also use the Celestron XLT 2"Diagonal, on my Nexstar 8 GPS..Get it you'll be happy you did

I agree with Mr. King!
If you have a large telescope that can accept 2" diagnals, get this lens. This is my default lens for both my 12" Dobson and my Nextar C-8, because with the Telerad aiming device, you can find what your hunting for. I agree with Mr. King, the eyepiece is going to reward you with razor sharp views on the worst nights ( I live in Vegas, the most lighted polluted city on the planet.) I come back to this lens to see most of with is in my Celestron C-8 Nextar's Programs views. Celestron's 70mm Teleview eyepieces are the best value for the cash, period. Forget Hyperions, Chinese junk on E-Bay, or $400 Orion eyepieces. The lens constantly delivers WOW!, when looking at planets, Orion, double stars, galaxies, Celstron delivers the best value for the paycheck. Don't waste your money on a scope that accepts only 1 1/4" eye pieces!!! Spend a bit more cash and reward the family with a good scope, otherwise a cheapscope is a exercise in wasted time, frustration, and money. Get at least a...
