Great Overall Tripod
After researching and comparing lots of tripods the Vista ATTARAS is a perfect compromise between price and pro-features: it is the most flexible and professional tripod in its price range. Now I have used it for a while, I am really glad that I made the purchase. I mainly use it for studio work. It is very sturdy with my D90 plus the battery grip and 18-200 VR lens on top; all movements are smooth yet lock-in tight. The build quality is decent, with every part made out of metal except the leg section locks. The leg locking levers have been locking tight. It is very light-weight; I bet I can carry it all day without getting a sore shoulder. The carrying case is slightly padded and fits the tripod perfectly with the handles removed. As a bonus surprise, the head attachment fitting comes in both 3/8' and 1/4' sizes; so don't have to worry about getting a bushing. Personally I would like it to be a little more compact (folded length is 28'), but it is not that big of a deal. Bottom line...
GREAT BUY
I use this tripod indoors with a D90 and a wide angle lens. It's very stable, even at full height. An entry level tripod but it's awesome. Light, easy to maneuver and the quick attach is a cinch. Would be great for a flash too, but make sure you get the tall model if you need it!
Nice tripod; easy to use
I bought this tripod for my son's birthday, and he loves it. He tells me it is extremely easy to use and that it can go low enough to take a picture as if one were lying on the ground.
