Exactly What I Was Looking For!
I tried several traditional Baby monitors but never could find exactly what I wanted - none of them worked quite like I wanted and all of them required me to carry a monitor from room to room with me. My husband suggested we try to find a simple wireless network camera so we ordered one last weekend and got it set up and working with ease. The instructions are simple - don't be afraid that you need to be a network genius! Just a few quick steps and you are up and running. I am amazed at how clear the images are and love just watching my baby sleep. It is especially cool to be able to monitor from my iPhone no matter where I am - I wish I could get one setup at our daycare center so that I could watch her on my computer while I am at work!

first off, it's pretty big, you need the larger scope rings to mount it.. and don't buy crappy ones either, get good solid one's that will compliment this great optic.

the glass is the best I've ever looked through... seriously. i equate this to the Canon 'L' lenses i use for digital photography. it makes dusk look like day, and night look like dusk. the glowing triangle/chevron is clear and crisp in the heaviest brush, and in the twilight hours, still shines out clean and clear. You will never wonder where your cross-hairs should be.

i picked up the amber triangle, and i have to say it is the perfect color. easy to pick out in any condition, but not...

I would like to thank Amazon and ADE, the manufacture of the Advanced Optics Gemological ID Portable Kit. The kit was sent to me missing the jadite filter. The Company of the kit responded immediately and have sent out the jadite filter and included an extra gift for my trouble. They also included a tracking number for this new package. So I did not have to send this kit back to Amazon. I am so happy with both Amazon and ADE. ADE seems very reputable and customer focused as does Amazon.com. I really do like this bag. It fits my Nikon D7100 and the few lenses I own with room for at least a few more. The interior yellow-orange color offers good contrast against the black camera, lenses, and other equipment so finding things is a bit easier compared to a bag with a black or dark interior. The interior is adjustable so you can organize your cameras and lenses in a way that makes sense to you personally. The shoulder strap has a curved pad that actually stays on your shoulder (something that doesn't always happen with other bags). My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that I'd prefer to have a few more smaller pockets available. But compared to what else is out there, this bag is a great buy. I highly recommend it.

Good Surveillance System But Does Not Live Up To Advertised Specs

I presume that majority of users looking into a camera/DVR product are looking for a home surveillance system. A wired surveillance system, such as this Lorex, is impractical for large or multi-story homes. The 60ft cable included cables or even optional 120ft cables will not stretch/install easily around the average multi-story home. With the 60ft cables, I decided to install 2 cameras on the top level of my home to monitor the front of my home.

The setup is very simple. Each camera has a BNC male connector and a power male connector. The supplied cables have a BNC and Power cable coupled together. You connect the BNC cable to the desired port on the DVR and the other side to the camera. The power to all 4 cameras is supplied through a single power adapter that connects to a splitter. You connect the DVR to a monitor (not included) with a VGA adapter.

Installation Instructions Lacking but Overall System Good for Price
My husband and I have been considering a security system for some time and when offered the Lorex Vantage 4-Channel DVR with 4 Cameras, I was very excited.

I left the installation up to my husband. He's a perfectionist with a engineer's mind so he read the instruction manual thoroughly, twice - making sure he understood the precise steps he was to follow. And, yet, still he became frustrated. To put it in his words, "A chimpanzee could have written clearer instructions!" But, in the end, he figured it out and the system was installed about about five hours (give or take).

So next in line was actually using the system. Beginning with daylight hours, the picture was extremely clear and crisp - very high quality. But as dusk turned to dark, the quality of the picture became less quality; not horrible but definitely not...

Software is COMPLETE JUNK
This has to be one of the worst products I have ever purchased. The hardware works very well but the software to run the cameras and the DVR is complete crap. The application for remote viewing on the mobile device would stop working every other hour. You would have to keep logging back in and inputting the configurations. That is when the app is working. NOW for the web access using the installed application which is provided in the package. The first few days it worked fine. After I had called the customer service 6 times to configure as the instructions were not clear. NOW, the application would not let log back in. No idea what is wrong and neither does the customer care. What a complete piece of crap. DO NOT BUY.

I bought this camera to replace a 9 year old Sony camcorder that stopped working (we're not talking about 9 yrs of heavy use either). I must say, this Canon is wonderful and so much easier to use!!
